Twenty-five years later, what therapeutic relationships do Congolese hospitals offer?

The experiments contained in this book were observed twenty-five years ago. This testimony highlights the relationship between white coats and patients, woven in a particular environment. This book gives readers the opportunity to realize what progress has been made and what adjustments need to be accomplished for the sake of our community health. However, this remains a call to action for requesting actors on the road or in hospital settings to be accountable after their acts and actions.

Specifically, in chapter 5, we can read, "In these places, people eat voraciously: always financially, often morally, sometimes physically," whether in the USA or in Africa. The biblical parable of the exchange between Abraham and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31) regarding the possible message of Lazarus to be delivered to the stunned living leads us to better prepare ourselves for the conditions of the hospital bed where we often spend our last hours before the final journey to the afterlife.

Thus, a call for engaged citizenship is launched so that everyone invests more of their resources in what matters most to our families: financial education and the cosmos of health.

Godefroid Duma

Godefroid Duma has lived in the United States with his family since 2010. He works as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital. In addition, he runs his own business, Freez 'hem Worldwide LLC, which promotes financial education. In 2021, he launched the "Mayi ekufela mbua" or #ClaimBankOverdrafts campaign in the United States.

He is the initiator of the Freezhem Africa Foundation created in Kinshasa, whose flagship projects for assisting accident victims are the Golden Hour Kit (the Good Samaritan's Purse) and the Healing of the Pool of Bethesda. In the near future, the Foundation will formalize the construction of an orthopedic university hospital and a retreat home on the outskirts of Kinshasa. The purchase of this modest book, a portion of the proceeds of which will be donated to these projects, is support and citizen participation in their realization.
